Day 182. Six months of building compress to four durable principles — and the operating pattern itself, not any single prototype, is the asset you carry into consulting.
The sabbatical ends today. The honest ledger: many prototypes, a few keepers, and one genuinely rare artifact — a personal operating system that captures, classifies, builds, reviews, and reports with quality gates on every door. Today's job is executing the wind-down triage so what survives is only what's witnessed.
Principle 1 — verify the side-effect, never the trigger. Every silent failure this half-year (RemoteTrigger 5/27, plan-day OAuth week, the vanished weekly reviews) traced to trusting 'the job started' over 'the artifact exists'. The witness principle is the single highest-value habit you formed.
Principle 2 — one door between systems. JARBUS writes to PDB only through reporter.py, and in six months of churn the two never corrupted each other. Principle 3 — dedup before you alert: the Jul 21 ledger turned five-failure weeks into single tasks; alarm fatigue is a design failure, and you designed it out. Principle 4 — unwitnessed cadences die silently: three weekly reviews vanished before anything noticed, and the heartbeat/witness layer is the answer you've specced but not yet fully built.
For the consulting horizon: what you'd actually show a client isn't FlowState or any single asset — it's the pattern. Intake → classify → route → build → quality-gate → single review surface → decisions with defaults → failures that surface where the operator reads. That's a deployable operating model for any small team drowning in its own work, and you have six months of receipts that it runs.
The final triage, from the Aug 1 playbook — now for real:
launchctl list | grep zorc | awk '{print $3}'
The prototypes were the curriculum; the operating pattern is the degree — carry the pattern, archive the rest, and leave only witnessed things running.
